Photos showing Hanoi's development and changes over the past 15 years are on display at the exhibition "Hanoi's Socio-Economic Development 2008-2023", which opened on August 1 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the capital's administrative boundary adjustment.

The exhibition presents impressive images of the capital in full development, worthy of being the national political-administrative center, a hub of culture, science, education, economy and international integration of the country.

Nearly 150 photos on display have outlined the new profile of Hanoi and its outstanding achievements in the period 2008-2023.

The exhibition is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the implementation of Resolution 15 on the expansion of the capital's administrative boundary, contributing to the city's development.

Hanoi's suburbs have undergone significant changes over the past 15 years.

The exhibition will help raise pride and encourage Party members and people to join hands to build an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, civilized and modern capital city.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Van Anh said that with the expansion of the administrative boundary, Hanoi had become the largest urban area in the country and one of the 17 largest capital cities in the world.

With a larger area, Hanoi has many development opportunities, but along with difficulties and challenges. With great efforts and determination, the city has made many important achievements, creating profound changes in all fields.

Van Anh stressed that the outstanding development of the capital over the past 15 years has confirmed the strategic vision and correct policies.

"The journey of the past 15 years is not long compared to the history of the capital and the country, but this is a particularly important period in creating a new position and strength for Hanoi. Today, walking along the shady green streets, looking at the urban skyscrapers, or strolling along the smooth concrete roads lined with colorful flowers in the outskirts, we feel more clearly the rapid and miraculous change of the capital after 15 years of expansion," Van Anh said.

The exhibition runs until August 7 at the Exhibition House, 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hanoi.
