Minh Nguyen 21:35, 2023/11/18
The book is seen as a manual for the political system to build its action plans for national unity.

A book on the national solidarity written by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong has been released.

The book "Promoting Tradition of National Unity, making the Nation Increasingly Rich, Strong, Civilized, and Happy” by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong launched on November 18.

Published by the Su That (Truth) National Publishing House, the book, titled “Promoting the Tradition of National Unity, Making the Nation Increasingly Rich, Strong, Civilized, and Happy”, presents the leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s consistent and comprehensive views on great national unity.

The book was launched today on the occasion of the founding of the Vietnam United National Front  (the Vietnam National Fatherland Front's predecessor) (November 18, 1930-2023).

Along with hard copies, the book has an electronic version available for free at www.stbook.vn.

National solidarity is recognized as the Party’s strategic orientation, which is the key to the success of the cause of national defense and construction throughout history.

The book features the General Secretary’s speeches, articles, interviews, and more than 140 photos taken during his working visits to authorities nationwide.

According to Do Van Chien, President of the Vietnam National Fatherland Front, the book is a helpful resource for advancing the national unity tradition and assisting various sectors, levels, localities, officials, and citizens in comprehending and carrying out the work of great unity.

It also helps guide the task of strengthening solidarity in building and developing the country, Chien said at the book's launch on November 18.

He said national solidarity has helped transform Vietnam from a war-torn country with a high rate of hunger and poverty into a nation with a better status in the international agendas and capable of carrying out great undertakings.

The book is divided into three parts, namely (1) Great national unity - Internal strength: the decisive factor in the cause of national building and defense, (2) Promoting the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s role and sociopolitical groups in carrying out the nation’s socioeconomic development goals, and (3) Encouraging individuals from all backgrounds and places to play a bigger part in the nation’s reconstruction.

In the book, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong also highlighted the role of intellectuals in national building and development. He said the intellectuals were the national wealth and expected them to contribute more to the country.

The Party leader stressed the importance of businesspersons, religious followers, and overseas Vietnamese, affirming that they are an integral part of the country and their contributions to the socioeconomic development are valuable.

Associate Prof. Vu Trong Lam, Director of the Su That National Publishing House, commented that the book demonstrates the Party leader’s consistent thinking of advancing national unity, which is contributed by all social strata, organizations, and domestic and overseas Vietnamese communities.
