The festival is designed to raise public awareness about the country’s revolutionary cause and history, as well as honor traditional cultural values and promote local tourism.
The Pac Bo festival 2019 will be organized in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang on March 6 for the first time, local media reported.

The festival is designed to raise public awareness about the country’s revolutionary cause and history, as well as preserving traditional cultural values and promote local tourism, especially the UNESCO-recognized Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark, thereby promoting the province’s tourism.
Pac Bo historical relic is closely connected to revolutionary activities of late President Ho Chi Minh, when he returned home from abroad and took refuge in Truong Ha commune of Ha Quang district in early 1941.
Most tourists going to Pac Bo will visit Lenin stream, a place where President Ho Chi Minh used to fish after busy time planning for the national insurrection. In addition, holidaymakers will visit the young hero Kim Dong’s grave and burn incense to show their gratitude.
Cao Bang is home to 214 cultural and historical relic sites, encompassing three national special ones, namely Pac Bo, Tran Hung Dao and Dong Khe.
2018 was considered a successful year for Cao Bang’s tourism sector, as the northern mountainous province welcomed a record 1.2 million tourists, a year-on-year rise of 30%, according to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The province's tourism industry grossed VND360 billion (US$15.5 million) in revenue, up 90% against the previous year.
