Over 500 Vietnamese and Russian enterprises are scheduled to take part in the Vietnam-Russia Expo and the Vietnam-Russia Trade and Investment Forum held on November 14 – 16 in Hanoi, according to Vu Tien Loc, chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

“This year’s program is part of a series of events in celebration of 70th anniversary of establishment of Vietnam – Russia diplomatic relations,” Loc said at a press conference held today.
Deputy Prime Minister cum Chairman of the Vietnam – Russia Intergovernmental Committee Trinh Dinh Dung along with representatives from Vietnam and Russia’s government agencies are expected to attend the event.
In a congratulatory message to delegations and visitors of the Expo and the Forum, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Vietnam is a long-standing and reliable friend of Russia in Southeast Asia, while the bilateral relation set an example for “a fair cooperation with mutual benefits.”
“A major pillar of the Vietnam – Russia strategic partnership is trade and economic cooperation, in which the Vietnam – Russia Expo plays a significant part,” added Lavrov.
This year’s expo is not limited to Vietnamese and Russian enterprises, but also is open to those from ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Union, focusing in the fields of construction materials, energy, telecommunications, healthcare, education, food, among others.
Additionally, the expo would display products from 19 provinces/territories of Russia and over 20 provinces/cities from Vietnam.
The opening ceremonies of the Vietnam – Russia Trade and Investment Forum and the Expo are scheduled on November 14 at the National Architectural Planning and Construction Exhibition (NECC) on Do Duc Duc street, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi. The entrance is free.
