More than 2,000 participants to attend GMS and CLV Summits

The GMS Business Summit will be held as an important event in the framework of the 6th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS-6) Summit and the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV-10) Development Triangle Summit from March 29 to 31.
This information was given at the press conference on the GMS-6 Summit and CLV-10 Summit held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 15. Accordingly, the GMS-6 Summit and the CLV-10 Summit will take place in Hanoi under the theme of “Leveraging 25 years of cooperation, building an integrated, sustainable, and prosperous GMS,” with the participation of more than 2,000 delegates.

It aims to celebrate the 25th founding anniversary of the GMS Programme and define cooperation orientations to build a region of prosperity, integration, and sustainable development.
Topics discussed around the conference will focus on the 25th anniversary of the founding of the GMS Cooperation, which identifies directions for cooperation to build a thriving, integrated, and sustainable Mekong region. In the framework of these two meetings, leaders will focus on discussing issues related to programs, plans, projects, and directions for future development cooperation.
“In particular, the leaders will focus on discussing issues surrounding the protection and effective use of the Mekong River,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Dinh Quy.
In addition, this is the first year that Vietnam has taken the initiative to hold the GMS Business Summit with the participation of more than 1,000  domestic and foreign delegates. The event was organized with the aim of enhancing dialogue between enterprises and the state, connecting businesses in the region and the world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasize that the GMS Business Summit will be held on March 30, with thematic discussions. In addition, the organizers will arrange an area to help businesses meet and exchange. On the afternoon of March 30, there will be a direct dialogue between enterprises and the government with the participation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. 
Meanwhile, the CLV-10 will review the implementation of the Master Plan for Socio-Economic Development of the CLV Development Triangle Area for 2010-2020 and discuss cooperation orientations in the coming time, especially seeking to increase trilateral economic connectivity.
