More than 10 million foreign visitors to Vietnam in ten months
According to announced the General Statistics Office, for the ten-month period, more than 10.47 million foreigners visited the country during Jan-Oct, an increase of 28,1 percent over 2016.

According to the latest statistics, international tourist arrivals to Vietnam in October increased 24.7 percent from the same period last year. In which, the highest growth was seen in travellers from Asia at 29.4 percent; Europe 8.3 percent; America 8 percent; Oceania 20.7 percent; Africa 23.6 percent…
The biggest increase, in the first ten months this year, was reported in Asian visitors at 32.8 percent, with over 7.8 million. Tourists from South Korea rose by nearly 54 percent, the highest during the period, while Chinese visitors came in second with a surge of 45.6 percent, reaching over 3.2 million, Japan 7,7 percent, Malaysia 17,2 percent, Thailand 12,7 percent, Singapore 7,8 percent…
Visitors from Europe in the past ten months also increased by 18.1% over the same period last year, of which the strongest increase was from Russia (up 38.3%). Visitors from Western European countries that Vietnam offers visa-free exemptions, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, also increased, with the most coming from Spain (up 20.6%).
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has made significant efforts to boost tourism since the beginning of this year, with a focus on tourism promotion campaigns in Vietnam’s key markets. The tourism industry also participated in international tourism fairs, while hosting international delegations from potential markets in order to survey Vietnam’s tourism market.
In particular, during the peak three months from August to October, VNAT organized many promotion events and introduced Vietnamese tourism in Australia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and many other European countries.
