Of the figure, there are 41 Vietnamese nationals among others of Bangladesh, Indonesian, the Philippines, Myanmar and Thailand, according to a Malaysian official.
Regarding this issue, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia has contacted with related agencies of Malaysia to verify the information and handle the issue, said MoFA Deputy Spokesperson Ngo Toan Thang at a regular press briefing on July 5.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs always tries to find way to ensure and protect the Vietnamese citizens’ legitimate rights”, Thang stressed.
