Before conducting procedures to import cigarette and cigar for the first time, importers have to send samples to authorised State agencies for certification of qualified food safe and standards in accordance with Vietnam’s current regulations.
The imported cigarette and cigar should follow the current regulations on labelling and printing health warnings on the packages.
They are allowed to enter the country through international border gates.
The importers should annually report the MOIT’s Department of Import and Export on their imports in three quarter and the import plan for the following year before October 15.
The MOIT will review the circular’s implementation in three years to consider the import in accordance with the State trade mechanism.
