The to-be-build facilities have total capacity of 2,000 beds. With the new ones, Bac Giang will have total 13 clinic institutes treating Covid-19 patients, including five field hospitals.

As of May 28, Bac Giang has confirmed 1,824 infections, the highest among localities nationwide, followed by Bac Ninh 709, and Hanoi 257.

Along with the high number of infections, the province faces a large number of first-generation contacts with confirmed cases (F1) and F2, amounting to 83,000.

To curb the spread of the pandemic, on May 28 Bac Giang required its residents not to go out of their houses, excepting for emergency and essential services.

On the day, Ho Chi Minh City reports additional 25 cases. The rising cases in the city over the past two days have prompted the suspension of foreign passengers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Today, the MoH reported one Covid-19 death who is a 22-year-old girl. She suffered septic shock and bacteremia in blood.

So far, Vietnam has recorded 6,515 infections, including 47 deaths.
