Kien Giang girl crowned Miss Photo 2012

Phan Thu Quyen, a 23-year-old girl from the southern province of Kien Giang, has defeated 29 contestants to win Miss Photo 2012.

The Hanoitimes - Phan Thu Quyen, a 23-year-old girl from the southern province of Kien Giang, has defeated 29 contestants to win Miss Photo 2012.


Quyen is 1.72m high and weighs 50kg. She has just graduated from Can Tho University. Her hobbies are reading books, listening to music, and travelling.

She received a VND100 million cash prize and rewards worth VND200 million.

Vu Ngoc Hoang Anh, 22 years old and 1.67m tall, finished first runner-up. The second runner-up went to Tran Ngoc Linh Chi, 22 years old and 1.68m tall.

Additional specialty awards were also given to Bui Thanh Ha (best natural beauty), Truong Minh Xuan Thao (most photogenic), Tran Ngoc Linh Chi (best skin), Vu Ngoc Hoang Anh (most beautiful hair), Pham Ha My (most talent), Nguyen Hong Nhung (nicest body), Pham Le Phuong Trinh (best Ao Dai wearer), Truong Minh Xuan Thao (nicest face), Vu Ngoc Hoang Anh (most impressive photograph), and Vu Ngoc Hoang Anh (most popular). 

The Miss Photo competition has been organised by the Vietnamese Women's Newspaper since 2000 to recognize feminine beauty and intelligence. After a six year hiatus, the competition returned in 2012.

The qualifying round began o­n July 1. The thirty contestants who entered the final round presented a new image of Vietnamese women.
