A successful conductor Andrea Bonatta, one of the most outstanding Italian pianists, will hold concerts in Viet Nam at 8pm at the Ha Noi Opera House on Febuary 25 and HCM City Opera House on Febuary 27.
Born in 1952, Bonatta started playing the piano when he was a child. His very first lessons on the piano were with his mother who was a professional pianist.
Right after graduating from the famous Bolzano Conservatory in South Tirol, Italy, Bonatta was appointed as piano professor at the conservatory, where he has been teaching for 40 years now.
During his multi-decade international career as a solo pianist, he has performed in prestigious concert halls across Europe, as well as in the US, South America and Australia.
His records featuring piano works by Brahms, Liszt and Schubert have received critical reviews.
Bonatta published a book about the piano compositions by Brahms, which is considered a milestone in this field.
Bonatta has also developed a career as a conductor. He is a jury member at many international competitions. He has been the Artistic Director of the Busoni Competition in Bolzano for many years. He is Artistic Adviser of the Liszt Competition in Utrecht as well as Honorary Professor of the Shanghai Conservatory and founder of the Piano Academy Eppan.
Bonatta is now a guest professor at the International Summer Academy Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria from the beginning of this year.
His debut concert in Ha Noi will start at 8pm at the Ha Noi Opera House, following by another concert in HCM City Opera House two days later on February 27.
Bonatta's Viet Nam tour concert is being organised by the Viet Nam National Academy of Music and sponsored by VP Bank.
