Several activities will be held in Ho Chi Minh City during Tet holiday.
According to the plan, on Lunar New Year’s Eve, 15-minute fireworks displays will be set off in six locations across the city, one of which will be a high-altitude display at the Thu Thiem Tunnel area, with the remaining five being low-altitude ones at the Dam Sen Park, the Ethnic Culture Historical Park in District 9, and other locations in the outlying districts of Nha Be, Can Gio and Cu Chi.
Prior to the fireworks displays, on February 1, leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front will lay wreaths and offer incense to pay respect to the late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ton Duc Thang Museum and Ho Chi Minh monument park.
They will also attend a ceremony on the same day to commemorate Hung Kings and Grand Mandarin Nguyen Huu Canh. In addition, an outdoor art program will take place in front of the city’s Opera House on February 2 to celebrate the 89th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
There will be a spring flower festival at Tao Dan Park running from January 1 to February 10, the Banh Tet Festival will be celebrated at the history-culture park and 24 local districts from January 30 and 31.
