The Ministry of Information and Communications on March 20 launched the “Happy Vietnam 2024” contest to select the best photos and videos and showcase the beauties of Vietnam to the world.

In cooperation with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the contest aims to draw the participation of both domestic and international photographers and video makers.
Through the visual products, photographers and video makers are expected to deliver amazing stories about Vietnamese cultural life, landscapes and people, therefore, stressing the nation’s achievements in ensuring human rights.
From the competition, Vietnam expects to inform the world about its peace, stability, and beautiful landscapes and people, and become a dynamic economy and a happy nation.
In its second edition, the contest’s prize structure includes one gold medal and a VND70 million (US$2,825) award, two silver medals and VND20 million ($807) for each winner, and three bronze medals VND10 million ($403.6) for each bronze winner. Especially, the author with the most-voted item will receive VND5 million ($202).
Photographers and video makers will be able to submit their works until August 20 to the organizer at the website: https://happy.vietnam.vn.
The first contest finished on December 19, 2023, drawing more than 7,000 photographic and filmographic submissions.
In the first competition, photographer Bui Cuong Quyet of the Vietnam News Agency won first place in the photography category, while independent filmmaker Nguyen Thanh Paven from Danang won the best video award.
