Hanoi’s spring fair offers numerous specialties

The spring fair is an important farm promotion event to boost consumption ahead of Vietnam`s traditional Lunar New Year.
Numerous specialties, especially safe agro-forestry-fishery products and handicrafts, are being offered at the Hanoi Spring Fair 2019, which opened at the Trade Promotion Center of Agriculture on January 25.

The fair is taking place on the occasion of the Lunar New Year with the aim of promoting the consumption of local specialties and providing consumers with high-quality agricultural products which are ensured about food safety and hygiene and produced under the supply chain of safe agricultural products and food.
 
Offered at the 150-booth fair are Minh Phu shrimp, Ca Mau crab, Da River fish, Phu Quoc fish sauce, Ha Long fried ground squid cakes, clean vegetables, Moc Chau tea and milk, huyet rong (red) rice, Seng Cu rice, Ly Son garlic, and regional fruits, among others.

In particular, many types of agricultural products to serve consumers’ demand during the Lunar New Year are being offered like pepper, cashew nut and macadamia seeds, specialty rice varieties, bamboo shoots, black garlic, Ly Son garlic and indispensable fruits from three regions of Vietnam.

According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien, the fair is an important farm promotion event to boost consumption ahead of the traditional Lunar New Year.

Tien added that in order to successfully implement the agricultural sector plan in 2019, the industry will have to continue developing the output market, perform precise market forecast, balancing supply and demand, developing new market and building brands for Vietnamese farm produce.

The fair will run until February 2 (Lunar December 28).
