Hanoians enjoy the first Ganesha Chaturthi Festival

As the world gears up to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi Festival, Hanoians also have a chance to enjoy the event this weekend.
Ganesha Chaturthi Festival, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi festival, a holy Hindu festival will be held at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center, 63 Tran Hung Dao street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi on September 15.

The Ganesha Festival is organized by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center as part of a series of Indian festival celebration with theme “Festival of India” in Hanoi. More events including Holi, Diwali, Christmas, Gurpurab and Buddha Purnima will be celebrated.
Especially, there will be many kinds of activities for attendees to try, such as Indian songs about Ganesha, storytelling, cartoon story, dance and songs for kids, Ganesha photo exhibition, Ganesha display corner, photo corner, food stall, henna stall, etc.
Ganesha, the Lord of Knowledge, the God of Auspicious Beginnings, Remover of all Obstacles is one of the most widely worshipped deities in India. Ganesha is an iconic deity who is/was worshipped across continents and oceans, including in Southeast Asia.
Across all regional and language boundaries, the annual Ganesha Chaturthi Festival celebrated with singing, chanting, traditional, modern music and the ceremonial immersion of Ganesha idols made of mud in water bodies. Traditional food, wearing of traditional clothes, visiting and celebrating with family and friends is an integral part of this magnificent cultural event.
Earlier, a Holi Festival, also known as the “Festival of Colors”, took place at the Indian Embassy in Vietnam on March 30. Holi is a spring Hindu festival celebrated all across India. The festival offered visitors a chance to understand more about Indian culture, people and food.
