Accordingly, the areas where cattle and poultry breeding is banned include wards of inner-city districts, four wards in Son Tay town, the capital towns of Dan Phuong, Hoai Duc, Dong Anh, Gia Lam, Thanh Tri districts, apartment buildings and other urban areas.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Chu Phu My said that according to statistics in May 2020, there are 207,587 households citywide raising cattle and poultry (buffaloes, cows, pigs, goats, among others).
These livestock farms must be relocated out of non-breeding areas or stop breeding activities from the effective date of the resolution until December 31, 2023.
Besides, the resolution stipulates policies to support the relocation of livestock farms, which will be applicable to those in the above-mentioned areas.
The resolution also provides support for vocational training and job change for the breeders and employees who work at livestock farms that meet the above-mentioned regulations.
The breeders who meet the regulations will be supported to relocate their farms to the animal husbandry areas approved by the municipal government.
