Hanoi to rejoin Ireland's Global Greening campaign
Global Greening campaign 2019 will be held when streets around the Hoan Kiem Lake are closed to traffic, so it promises to create an interesting entertainment space for the public.
In response to Ireland's Global Green campaign, the area around the Pen Tower at the Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of Hanoi will be lit up again in green color on March 16 evening.
This is the third year that Hanoi city participates in this campaign and the second year the Pen Tower will be lit up in green color. Hanoi became the first city in Southeast Asia to get involved in the campaign in 2017.
The campaign will be held when streets around the Hoan Kiem Lake are closed to traffic, so it promises to create an interesting entertainment space for the public.
In addition to the Global Green campaign, from 1pm on March 16, the "Ireland Day" will be held with a cultural festival to introduce Irish people and culture.
In addition, the traditional music group from Cork University (UCC Tradsoc) will bring Ireland's spectacular music and dance performances to the "Ireland Day" and the green light ceremony.
The initiative called Ireland's Global Green campaign has become a global campaign since 2010. Accordingly, famous landmarks all over the world such as the Empire State building in New York, City Hall of London, Great Wall in China, are "lit up green" to respond to the event.
