Hanoi to prevent use of banned substances in livestock

The Hanoi People’s Committee has just granted the Official Letter No. 3088/UBND-KT on asking relevant agencies to implement the direction of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh on preventing production and business of fake and poor quality goods, agricultural materials as well as using banned substances in livestock.
Accordingly, the Hanoi People’s Committee received the Document No. 6052/VPCP-V.I dated June 12, 2017 of the Government’s Office on stating the direction of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Head of the National Steering Committee 389 on preventing production and trade of fake and poor quality goods, agricultural materials and the use of banned substances in livestock.

Regarding the reports of Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Health, Industry and Trade, Finance, Science and Technology and the Office of the National Steering Committee 389 on preventing production and trade of fake and poor quality goods, including: fertilizers, pesticides, veterinary drugs, animal feeds and use of banned substances in livestock in the 2015-2016 year.


Permanent Deputy Prime Ministry Truong Hoa Binh, Head of the National Steering Committee 389 asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to receive all feedbacks of ministries, sectors and complete missions, measures to perform them in the coming time so as to improve the efficiency of managing agricultural materials and prevent the use of banned substances in livestock, food processing.

In addition, Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Police, National Defense, Industry and Trade, Finance, Information and Communications, Health, Science and Technology and the National Steering Committee 389, the Government Inspectorate, People’s Committees of provinces and centrally – run cities, Vietnam Television, Radio Voice of Vietnam will continue proactively carrying out the Resolution No. 41/NQ-CP dated June 9, 2015 of the Government on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeits, the Directive No. 15/CT-TTg dated April 24, 2017 of the Prime Minister on some missions and urgent solutions in managing agricultural materials. Similarly, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 is responsible for supervising, urging the implementation and synthesis and giving periodic reports to the Prime Minister and Head of the National Steering Committee 389 every quarter, half and year.

Regarding the above content, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to take prime responsibility and cooperate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant units to implement the direction of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh; sympathize and give reports to the Municipal People’s Committee and the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 as stipulated by law.
