Hanoi to launch second double-decker bus tour
The city tour offered by Hanoi’s double-decker buses has received positive feedback from locals and foreign travelers.
According to the Hanoi Department of Transport, Vietnam - Hanoi Tourism Company will launch the second double-decker bus tour named as "Thang Long – Hanoi city tour" on October 10.
A representative from the Hanoi Department of Transport said that the Department presided over a meeting on July 31, with the participation of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the Departments of Transportation, Tourism, Information and Communication, Hanoi Transportation Corporation, Hanoi Electricity Corporation on the pilot of passenger transport services by double-decker buses of "Hop on-Hop off” and “Thang Long – Hanoi city tour".
At the meeting, the parties agreed to pilot the second double-decker bus tour in Hanoi, recommended by Vietnam-Hanoi Tourism Joint Stock Company.
The Hanoi Department of Transport requested the company to prepare necessary conditions for vehicles and people to effectively and safely deploy the second double-decker bus tour in Hanoi on the occasion of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10).
Vietnam - Hanoi Tourism Joint Stock Company said that the second city tour bus route is from Con Coc flower garden (Ngo Quyen street) - Hai Ba Trung - Quang Trung - Trang Thi - Phu Phuc - Hoang Dieu... Its distance is 14.8 km long, with frequency of 30 minutes/trip, operating from 9am to 5h30pm during the day.
The company has not disclosed the ticket price but confirmed that it is calculated sufficiently to achieve the business efficiency and ensure competitiveness.
The first double-decker bus named “Hop on-Hop off” officially came into operation on May 31, offering its passengers a tour to 30 famous destinations of Hanoi city.
The double-deck bus can carry 80 passengers and meets the European emission standard Euro 4. The bus’s low floor system is convenient for the elderly, children and disabled to get on and off.
