Hanoi has recently organized a conference to review the task in the first quarter of 2018 and deploy key missions in the last months of the year.

Besides, Hanoi has paid special attention to investing in hi-tech agricultural production. So far, the city has recorded 118models of high-tech agriculture, increasing 13 ones compared to the end of last year.

Meanwhile, in terms of improving farmers’ living standards, the rate of poor households in rural areas has reduced from 3,65% (in 2016) to 2.57 (in 2017). By the end of 2017, per capita income in rural areas reached VND 38 million.
At the conference, participants evaluated experiences on new style rural building in localities and proposed difficulties and problems during the process to the city authority.
Speaking at the conference, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang highly appreciated efforts of towns, departments and sectors in proactively outlining missions and measures to overcome difficulties of crop and animal restructuring; accelerating the agricultural restructuring and strengthening the application of high technologies; completing the Spring crop production plan and building new style rural areas.
At the conference, she also pointed out some difficulties and shortcomings in industrial development and new style rural construction, food safety and hygiene.
To remove the shortcomings, Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang asked units to continue boosting the agricultural development towards concentrating hi-tech agricultural production.
She requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to cooperate with districts to establish link chains, trademarks of agricultural products and synchronously develop agriculture in association with new style rural area construction.
Suburban districts and towns should review all criteria, especially agricultural and rural development; strengthen and diversify the popularization to create the consensus among people. Meanwhile, districts should support suburban districts to build new style rural areas, she noted.
She underlined that suburban districts, such as Gia Lam, Phuc Tho, Quoc Oai, Thach That should urgently complete dossiers to the Municipal People’s Committee for consideration and recognition.
Permanent Deputy Secretary Ngo Thi Thanh Hang assigned the Program Operation Office to synthesize full recommendations and act as advisor to members of the Steering committee, leaders of departments, sectors and localities to settle and give a report on results in the next conference.
