Hanoi to focus on developing crafts and craft villages

Mobilizing all resources for craft village development is one of the Capital city’s key missions in 2017.
In 2017, Hanoi spent over VND 35.2 billion on developing crafts and craft villages. The Department of Labor Invalids and Social Affairs has organized vocational training courses for 23,415 rural labors. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has also opened training courses for 2,080 labors in craft villages.
 


 

In addition, departments and sectors have proactively arranged funds for vocational training. Particularly, the Department of Industry and Trade has cooperates with relevant departments, sectors, associations to open 40 courses on training fine art craft for 1,400 people from 40 communes, villages; organize 15 others on management skills, designing, export-import, sales, finance for 1,500 turns of leaders, managers of enterprises and producers.

Besides, the Department of Industry and Trade has supported 12 projects on renewing facilities, putting modern machines into production; organized eight Industrial sewing courses for 280 labors and supported the project on investment, innovation and application of advanced and modern machines in production. 

 


 

To give financial assistance to enterprises, producing facilities in craft villages, the State Bank of Vietnam – Hanoi Branch has provided loans for craft and craft village development. By December 31, 2017 the total loans for agriculture and rural development reached VND 94,877 billion, up 21.5 percent in comparison with the same period last year; the total capital for craft villages fetched VND 11,626 billion, posting a year on year surge of 12.2 percent.
 
Hanoi Cooperative Development Assistance Fund provided loans to four handicraft villages, artisans and skilled craftsmen with the total capital of VND 1.1 billion.
