Hanoi to ensure market stabilization in last months of 2017 and Tet holiday

The Office of Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued Official Letter 10880/VP-KT, requesting relevant agencies to implement Directive 14/CT-BCT of Industry and Trade Ministry on taking measures to ensure supply-demand balance and market stabilization in the last months of 2017 and Lunar New Year of 2018.
The Hanoi People’s Committee received directive of Ministry of Industry and Trade, requesting municipal Department of Industry and Trade to perform following tasks:



 

Supervise, assess supply resources and demand of goods in the last months of the year, especially prime products, thus proactively proposing measure to balance supply and demand, stabilize the market and prevent product shortage, supply interruptions or backlog after the Lunar New Year;

Proactively suggest measures to prepare goods supply resources, store prime products for the Lunar New Year, and take measures to stabilize the market according to the law; offer support, and connect enterprises dealing with production, distribution of  prime products for Lunar New Year with credit organizations in Hanoi, thus helping them access loans with preferential interest rate and store goods;

Cooperate with relevant agencies and departments, conduct activities to connect the production, processing and packing facilities certified for meeting production and food safety standards with the safe food trading and distribution facilities; collaborate with other localities nationwide, or take part in supply-demand connection programs to introduce specialties, support consumption of the products from localities, and create supply resources for the Lunar New Year;
 


 

Enhance Vietnamese People Use Vietnamese Products campaign; bring domestic products to rural areas, remote areas, and prepare affordable products, subsidized products and prime consumer goods for the Lunar New Year; urge businesses to take domestic trade promotion activities and demand stimulation programs; increase supervision and examination, focusing on prices, product quality, regulations on food safety, speculation and illegal increase price;

Cooperate with the Department of Information and Communication and mass media agencies of Hanoi to provide full and up-to-date information about the market, prices, market stabilization programs, food safety management, subsidized shopping places, and food shops to the people; conduct in-depth popularization of the Vietnamese People Use Vietnamese Products campaign; control wrong information which can destabilize the market.

In response to the document, the Hanoi People’s Committee requests Department of Industry and Trade in cooperation with relevant agencies and sectors to realize instruction of Industry and Trade Ministry, regularly sum up information, submit report, and help the Municipal People’s Committee to give instruction for market stabilization in the last months of 2017.
