Hanoi to develop literature and arts
After ten years of implementing Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the 10th Politburo, Hanoi has made many remarkable changes of literature and arts in both content and form.
Over the past time, the capital city has focused on building and completing cultural institution system from the city to localities, contributing to gradually improving local people’s cultural and spiritual standards.
Due to the efficiency of cultural houses at all levels, districts, suburban districts and towns have paid special attention to building cultural houses in communes, wards and residential areas so as to meet people’s demands for cultural activities, significantly contributing to building and developing cultural life in localities.
Additionally, Hanoi has strengthened investment in infrastructure for art development as planned. Traditional art theaters have been equipped modern facilities to meet their specialized requirements.
The city has built and completed a number of art works, such as Hanoi Museum, Cong Nhan (Worker) Theater, Dai Nam Theater, Kim Dong Theater, Hanoi Library, Thanh Giong Statute, Uncle Ho – Uncle Ton Statute, Ceramic road, etc.
Especially, Hanoi has a wide range of intangible cultural heritages. In 2017, the city recorded 1,793 heritages, including three intangible cultural ones of humanity recognized by UNESCO.
Besides, the city has implemented many programs on preserving and promoting cultural heritages, such as: Trong Quan singing, Do singing, Cheo Tau singing, Ai Lao singing and dance, etc.
Similarly, professional art theaters also staged a series of art performances featuring cultural characteristics of Thang Long – Hanoi, such as: Princess Ngoc Han, Cao Ba Quat, Children of Hanoi, etc.
Via art performances, Hanoi has introduced traditional arts featuring culture and people of Thang Long – Hanoi to international friends, making important contributions to attracting foreign travelers to the capital city in particular and Vietnam in general.
In the coming time, Hanoi will strengthen communication on purpose, content, significance and importance of the Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2008 on building and developing literature and arts in the new situation to all localities and collectives to create consensus in the implementation.
At the mean time enhancing cultural exchanges and bringing high quality works in the world to Hanoi’s readers, gradually improving the tastes and aesthetics of the public; boosting the socialization in training and encourage organization and individuals to take part in developing human resources for culture and arts; organizing cooperation programs and plans to introduce literature works and art performances to international friends, etc.
