Hanoi tightens cooperation with Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture

Hanoi has effectively cooperated with Japanese prefecture of Ibaraki to exchange experiences in preserving, embellishing and promoting the values ​​of cultural relics.

Hanoi always looks to tighten cooperation with Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture, said Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party's Committee at a reception for President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association (Ibaraki prefecture chapter) Yachie Yamaguchi on November 21.

Hang said that Hanoi has effectively cooperated with Japanese cities and prefectures, especially Tokyo, Ibaraki and Fukuoka, to exchange experiences in preserving, embellishing and promoting the values ​​of cultural relics.

Briefing the guest on Hanoi’s development in recent years, the permanent deputy secretary appreciated Japanese investment projects in the capital city and expressed belief that the cooperation between the two countries as well as between Hanoi and Japanese cities will be increasingly comprehensive, practical and effective.

Hanoi is currently focusing on developing agriculture in the direction of high-tech application to create high-quality commodities and ensure hygiene and safety. Hang said Ibaraki prefecture is highly experienced in high-tech application in agriculture and the Ibaraki delegation's visit will open up more cooperation opportunities in the field.

She thanked Ibaraki as well as other Japanese cities for their valuable contributions to the development Hanoi, including support from the leaders of the Ibaraki government and the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association for the upcoming visit of Ibaraki governor to Hanoi.

For her part, Yachie Yamaguchi emphasized a series of exchange activities between Hanoi and Ibaraki that have contributed significantly to strengthening Vietnam-Japan friendship.

There are about 8,000 Vietnamese, mostly students, studying and living in Ibaraki, Yachie Yamaguchi said, pledging that the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association will be a bridge and a gateway to welcome Vietnam’s students and delegations to Ibaraki.

Agreeing with the Hanoi official, Yachie Yamaguchi said that agriculture currently contributes only 5% to Ibaraki’s economy but the output is huge and ranks behind Hokkaido only. She expressed her hope to support Ibaraki – Hanoi agriculture cooperation.

Yachie Yamaguchi also pledged that the association would continuously make effort to strengthen collaborative relationship between Vietnam and Japan, as well as Hanoi and Ibaraki.
