The activities include cultural and social exchanges between the Vietnamese and Romanian people, he said at the meeting with Le Hong Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee.

In addition, more than 20 universities from Romania will take part in the Vietnam Education Exhibition in late October, the Romanian official said.

At the meeting, Eugen also appreciated the efforts that the authorities of Hanoi have made to support the said activities. He also hoped the capital city will continue to facilitate Romanian businesses and investors to expand their operations, thus boosting the bilateral relationship.

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi is one of the most important partners to Romania, Eugen said.

The Government of Romania hopes to expand its relations with Vietnamese provinces and cities, including Hanoi, as well as tighten the friendship and enhance the mutual understanding between the two nations and peoples, he said.

In response, official Son warmly welcomed the visit of the delegation in the context that bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Romania has been bolstered.

The Vietnamese official appreciated the assistance provided by the Romanian government agencies to Vietnamese businesses and students living in the country.

He also agreed that Hanoi will enhance its relations with Romanian localities in education, cultural and social exchanges.

“Hanoi and Romanian partners have a great potential to improve the two-way cooperation in trade, investment and economic activities, in the fields Hanoi is strong," he said.

“The Hanoi authorities will create the best conditions to facilitate the development of said activities,” Son said. He also asked the Romanian side to promote delegation exchange to improve the close relationship between Hanoi and Romania’s capital city of Bucharest as well as other cities.
