Four Hanoi students won both the gold medal and special prize at the 8th Korea International Youth Olympiad (KIYO 4i 2023) held in Seoul on August 7-9, according to the Vietnam Physics Society (VPS).
The winners include Nguyen Anh Thu from the High School for Gifted Students under Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE), Nguyen Trung Hieu from Reigate Grammar School Vietnam, Tong Gia Huy from Hanoi Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, Nguyen Tuan Hoang from French International School Alexandre Yersin.

In addition, another five-member team, consisting of Nguyen Phuong Anh, Vu Chi Doanh, Dang Thang Binh, Vu Trung Dung, and Do Nhu Minh Khoi, bagged the gold medal and special prize. They are all students from Hon Gai High School in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
The third Vietnamese team, including three students from Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, won the bronze medal from the northern province of Lang Son: Pham Son Binh, Ho Tuan Anh and Nguyen Duc Manh.
Organized annually by the World Women Inventors & Entrepreneurs Association (WWIEA), KIYO 4i promotes the spirit of the four "Is", i.e. Idea, Invention, Innovation, Intellectual Property. It aims to enhance the youth's creativity in science and technology and to gain worldly experience.
KIYO 4i 2023 attracted the participation of 192 teams from 10 countries around the world. The event provided an opportunity for young leaders to demonstrate creativity with challenging thinking and teamwork. It also aims to find young people who will lead the technology in the 4th Industrial Revolution era by promoting invention, science and creativity.
It was sponsored by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA), Seoul National University, POSTECH and Hanyang University.
