Hanoi determined to stamp out Covid-19 at Bach Mai Hospital: Mayor

Hanoi mayor Nguyen Duc Chung said that if the city government must control the outbreak in Bach Mai Hospital, otherwise the consequences will be severe.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has planned to mobilize all resources to stamp out the coronavirus at Bach Mai Hospital that has become the largest Covid-19 outbreak epicenter in Vietnam, Kinhtedothi.vn reported.

At a meeting on March 30, Chung stressed that Hanoi had to act quickly and decisively to encircle the outbreak.

The city government has reviewed 9,062 cases related to Bach Mai Hospital, of which 230 cases with suspected symptoms have been sampled, the mayor said.

He asked all people who came to Bach Mai Hospital from March 10 to March 28 need to urgently contact the competent forces for sample collection for testing, medical declaration and quarantine. In this case, the Hanoi Smart City application should be regularly updated to supervise people under home isolation.

The Hanoi mayor said that the city government must control the outbreak in Bach Mai Hospital, otherwise the consequences will be severe.

As of March 31, 33 Covid-19 patients are linked to Bach Mai Hospital. All people working there are under quarantine with good conditions and stable mood. Hanoi will give priority to supporting Ministry of Health-run Bach Mai Hospital to conduct quick testing and identifying coronavirus-infected people.

Staff and doctors of the hospital will spend their quarantine at a four-star hotel so that they can quickly recover strength after intense work.

Hanoi reported 84 infection cases as of March 31, of which 27 have been cured and 57 under treatment. Those in severe and critical condition have shown positive signals.
