To boost the city’s tourism industry, Hanoi’s Department of Tourism will join hands with other localities and local businesses to launch stimulus programs and joint tour packages with affordable prices and higher quality.

Recently, the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club, Hanoi’s tour operators and Hanoi Railway Transport JSC (Haraco) have launched a joint program, which focuses on building tour packages by train to favorite destinations in Quang Binh, Hue, Danang, Nghe An and Lao Cai provinces.
“The city’s tour operators and members of the club will continue creating more tour packages by train in the coming time,” Truong Quoc Hung, Chairman of the Club told Kinh te & Do thi.
Hanoitourist Travel Company and the Management Board of the Hoa Lo Prison Relic have organized a night tour at the Hoa Lo Prison Relic on weekends, starting from July 24. The travel business has also cooperated with the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center to refresh products of the Imperial Citadel Thang Long – Hanoi.
Hoan Kiem district’s authorities are building a pilot project to turn Hang Dao commercial street and Dong Xuan market into a new tourist route. They also plan to connect the extended walking space in the south of the Old Quarter with the Hoan Kiem Lake area to make it one unique pedestrian space.
So far, the stimulus alliance program, an initiative by Hanoi’s Department of Tourism, has drawn the participation of 85 tour operators, transport providers; 21 hotels and shopping facilities; 10 tourist destinations, who together have created 346 tour packages to send tourists to destinations nationwide.
Enhancing promotion investment
Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ngo Hoai Chung said that Hanoi has the advantage of boasting a number of unique tourism products and being a safe and interesting destination with many peculiar features.
However, to effectively exploit the potential, the city needs to create connections among travel businesses, destinations, service accommodations, as well as building customized experience-based tourism, Chung said.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh suggested that tourism promotion activities should be jointly carried out by businesses and localities based on the key local tourism products.
Particularly, Hanoi should be leading the joint effort in creating favorable conditions for businesses to access information, development policies and stimulate tourism in the city, Binh added.
Deputy Director of Hanoi’s Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu stressed that human resources play the key role in boosting tourism, especially in the post-Covid period, so attention should be paid to workforce training.
He also added that the city’s tourism industry will enhance the application of information technology to promote new products, in addition to stimulating domestic demand.
