The event would serve as a platform for dialogue between city leaders and the business community to discuss solutions for the economy to overcome difficulties and thrive in the post-pandemic period.

The Thang Long Entrepreneur Gala 2021 themed “Solidarity with success”, slated for December 27, would be an occasion to honor outstanding businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Nearly 200 enterprises representing a community of 318,000 businesses in Hanoi would receive awards from the State and city for their efforts in overcoming the pandemic impacts and contributing a great deal to the country’s Covid-19 fight.”

Mac Quoc Anh, vice chairman of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (Hanoisme), at a press briefing on November 24.

Anh said on this occasion, the Hanoisme would initiate an emulation campaign to promote the application of science-technology and digitalization in corporate governance; product diversification; enterprises restructuring; safe production against the pandemic, and contributing to Hanoi’s economic growth.

Vice-Chairman of the Hanoisme and General Director of Garment 10 Company Than Duc Viet added 2021 was a challenging year for businesses, mainly due to the disruption of supply chains as a result of the pandemic.

“Many firms, however, have been able to maintain operation and ensure job security for employees,” Viet said, adding the reopening of the economy was instrumental for businesses to stay afloat.

Hanoisme's Chairman Do Quang Hien noted the business community is committed to accompanying the authorities in pursuing the twin goal of both containing the pandemic and boosting economic growth.

“In addition to business priorities, Hanoi’s enterprises have been actively fulfilling their social responsibilities and responding to the authorities' call in combating the pandemic,” he said.

The Gala’s organizers noted the event would serve as a platform for dialogue between city leaders and the business community to address the latter’s concern, eventually laying the foundation for the economy to overcome the difficulties and seize opportunities to grow in the post-pandemic period.
