Hanoi seeks cooperation with Lithuania’s localities

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Hung made the statement while receiving newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Vietnam Ina Marciulionyte in Hanoi on January 24.
Appreciating the development of Baltic countries, including Lithuania, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Hung stated that Hanoi always wants to learn more experience from Lithuania.
During its development, Hanoi faced issues of traffic congestion and population growth, thus the capital wishes to exchange cooperation on urban management with Lithuania and approach management methods of many major cities in the world, towards building a smart urban area, Hung affirmed.
He added that promoting cultural values is also one of Lithuania's strengths, so Hanoi also wants to learn Lithuania's historical issues, because Hanoi has many heritages with thousands of years of history.
In the immediate future, the two sides can actively promote the process of exchanging delegations and learn about cooperation opportunities, Hung stressed.
For her part, Ambassador Ina Marciulionyte affirmed that with the strength of technology and finance, Lithuania is considered one of the gateways to Europe, so she expressed her desire that Vietnamese businesses will increase investment in Lithuania.
Knowing that Hanoi is expected to cooperate with cities and countries in numerous fields, especially high-tech and smart urban areas, the ambassador said Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital, with its strengths, is willing to work with Hanoi city to exchange experiences and grow together.
