Accordingly, each health facility needs to take proactive measures such as expanding the areas for treatment and training health workers on treatment regimens.
Besides, medical experts need to improve disease forecasting and provide additional measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.
The municipal party secretary also asked the Hanoi People's Committee to study the isolation plan for each neighborhood if necessary, adding that it is an urgent task which should be implemented right away.
At the meeting, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that Hanoi has been recognized as one of the cities responding well to the Covid-19 epidemic from the very outset, preventing its spread.
The city has coordinated with the army to apply safety measures on all passengers coming from the epidemic-hit countries right at Noi Bai International Airport on the outskirts of the city. Thereby, the city has promptly detected suspicious cases for isolation.
So far, Hanoi has not recorded any cases of Covid-19 infection.
However, facing the complicated evolution of the epidemic, the Hanoi mayor suggested that relevant departments and agencies will join hands with the Ministry of Health in screening and controlling the epidemic at Noi Bai International Airport.
The hospitals assigned for Covid-19 patient treatment need to train staff and make specific plans to carry out the epidemic prevention and control drills of next week.
Especially, the municipal government has to prepare enough equipment and medical supplies for hospitals and clinics, Chung stressed.
