Hanoi, Mozambique share experiences in agricultural development

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung met with a newly-appointed Mozambican Ambassador to Vietnam Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene on August 23.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung affirmed that Hanoi is ready to participate in the cooperation programs between Vietnam and Mozambique, especially in the fields of agriculture and trade.
Hanoi is willing to share its experience in developing agriculture with Mozambique as well as organize training programs for human resources in agriculture for the African nation, he added.

Chairman Chung reaffirmed that Hanoi will create favorable conditions for the ambassador to complete his duties in Vietnam.
The Hanoi leader hoped that during his tenure, the ambassador would help bring Vietnam - Mozambique relations in general and Hanoi - Mozambique in particular to a new level.
For his part, Ambassador Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene sincerely thanked and expressed the honor of being assigned the mission in Vietnam.
The ambassador affirmed that Mozambique's high-level leaders attach great importance to developing relations with Vietnam. He expressed hope that bilateral relations will expand through many channels such as the Party, the parliament and people-to-people exchange, gaining political trust as the foundation for connecting the two economies on two continents.
On this occasion, Ambassador Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene informed that Mozambique's economy grew 3%-plus in 2017. The result was thanks to economic cooperation with strategic partners, including Vietnam. According to the Ambassador, Mozambique is particularly interested in working with Vietnam in four areas, including agriculture, infrastructure, energy and tourism development.
