Hanoi mayor presents gifts to parishioners

Hanoi mayor Nguyen Duc Chung emphasized that the city’s target is to ensure its residents a joyful Spring festival and no citizen or household is left without Tet celebration.

On the occasion of the Year of the Rat in 2020, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has visited and presented gifts to 60 parishioner families and people living in hardship, the Government Portal reported.

On behalf of Hanoi city's leaders, mayor Nguyen Duc Chung sent his greetings to Father Anthony Nguyen Van Thang of Hanoi Cathedral Parish and the families of parishioners.

Chung wished the priest and parishioners a new year with good health, happiness and joy.

The mayor also informed the parishioners about the work of social security and welfare for families beneficiary of welfare policies and poor households, including parishioners.

He emphasized that Hanoi city’s target is to ensure its residents a joyful Spring festival and no citizen or household is left without Tet celebration.

For his part, Father Anthony Nguyen Van Thang expressed his thanks to the Hanoi mayor and leaders of the municipal government.

Thang wished Hanoi’s leaders and the local government a new spring full of good health and peace.
