Hanoi leader exchanges development experience with Pakistani delegation
On Dec 5, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung received Pakistani delegation led by Vice Director of the Lahore National School of Public Policy of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Jamil Ahqi, coming to Hanoi.
At the meeting, both sides expressed the delight with continuously developed tie between Vietnam and Pakistan as well as Hanoi city and Pakistan’s cities. The delegation showed the willingness to learn experience in managing and implementing development policies.
Welcoming the delegation’s visit, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee briefed about the Hanoi social-economic development and the administrative structure of the city. With population of approximately 9.5 million, the city contributes nearly 19 percent of national budget revenue per year. The average growth reached 8.1 percent in 2016 and is expected to hit 8.5 percent in this year.
Chung pressed that, to fulfil the development priorities, Hanoi government is focusing on infrastructure development, human resources and administrative reform, especially streamlining public servant system. The city positively applies high technology in processing administrative procedure. Until now, the procedure of tax prescription and custom conducted online hit 98 percent and 100 percent respectively.
For his part, Mian Muhammad Jamil Ahqi said that his delegation learnt helpful experience during the visit. He expressed the hope that Vietnam and Pakistan will continue increasing cooperation and experience exchanges. Stressing the similarities in Vietnamese and Pakistani culture as well as development priorities, he said, the Lahore National School of Public Policy of Pakistan hoped to continue the knowledge exchanging with Hanoi city as well as Vietnam. These activities also contribute to reinforce and develop the tie of Hanoi city and Pakistani cities.
