Hanoi halts entertainment activities during national funeral for President Quang

Vietnam’s highest leadership has decided to hold the funeral of President Dai Quang, who passed away on September 21 at the age of 61, with the national mourning etiquette starting September 26.
The Hanoi government on September 25 issued a decision on stopping entertainment activities during the national mourning etiquette for President Tran Dai Quang.

The Hanoi People's Committee asked agencies and offices in the city to hover national flag with a black ribbon for the two-day national funeral on September 26 and 27.

Organizations, individuals, and entertainment facilities are requested to suspend or cancel artistic programs, sports competition and entertainment activities in the localities for the two-day national funeral.

Besides, to ensure the security and traffic safety for the national mourning etiquette, the Hanoi Public Security Department decided to limit large vehicles and divert traffic flows in 20 streets surrounding the National Funeral Hall, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong street where the national funeral will take place.

According to a special announcement, the respect-paying ceremony will start at 7am on September and the memorial service will be held at 7:30am on September 27 at the same venue.

In order to serve the security and order in the national mourning etiquette, it is required that all vehicle owners must abide by the Traffic Law and the police force’s guidance.
