For many years, the Hanoi city government has paid special attention to developing greenery to improve micro-climate, architectural space and urban landscape, protect the city’s environment and local residents’ life, Kinhtedothi.vn reported.
According to a report from the municipal Department of Construction, since 2016, Hanoi has planted 1.53 million trees. The enriched vegetation not only embellishes the urban landscape but also contributes to curbing air pollution, providing oxygen, and increasing humidity and air conditioning.
Besides, tree species have been diversified to include indigenious plants and those imported. The red maple trees on Tran Duy Hung - Nguyen Chi Thanh thoroughfare are a typical example.
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Construction Hoang Cao Thang said that in 2020, the city will focus on developing lower elevation plants, selecting trees varieties in accordance with environmental functions and urban aesthetic requirements.
