Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai stressed this view during the annual Thang Long Entrepreneur Gala 2023 held on October 5.
Chairman of the Hanoi Business Association (HBA) Nguyen Hong Son highlighted the significance of the gala, which coincides with the celebration of Capital Liberation Day on October 10 and Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day on October 13.
"The program is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the revered legacy of previous generations of entrepreneurs," he said.
Son noted the gala recognizes and promotes the aspirations for prosperity and the contributions and dedication of Hanoi's business community.
"HBA aims to become a home for the capital's business community, facilitating interaction, knowledge sharing, and networking among entrepreneurs and businesses," he added.
Son stressed that this celebration recognizes businesses and entrepreneurs' efforts and remarkable accomplishments in advancing the economic development of the capital and the country, motivating them to continue making significant contributions.

Hai highlighted the city's proactive approach in recent years, focusing on the well-being of its people and businesses. "Hanoi is committed to enhancing the business and investment environment, bolstering the private economy as a key driver of the city's economic landscape," he said.
In line with this objective, Hanoi has established a special task force led by the Chairman of the City People's Committee to promptly address the challenges faced by businesses and investors in production and project implementation.
Thanks to these efforts, the economic situation has seen positive outcomes, with a 6.08% increase in GRDP in nine months, increased state budget revenues, and the establishment of 22,895 new enterprises, Hai said.
"These achievements owe much to the active involvement of the capital's business community. Entrepreneurs and businesses have demonstrated their pivotal role by being dynamic, creative, and responsible, ensuring business stability, and participating in community-oriented initiatives," he said.
On this occasion, Hai paid tribute to the HBA's contributions over the past 17 years, highlighting its role in connecting member businesses, offering human resources support, and organizing domestic and international trade promotion initiatives.
HBA also plays a key role in summarizing business difficulties and making recommendations to alleviate challenges related to capital, markets, taxes, customs, and administrative procedures, thereby enhancing business competitiveness. Moreover, it regularly evaluates and recommends outstanding businesses for recognition by competent authorities.
Looking ahead, Hai suggested that the HBA continue to serve as a bridge between businesses and the city government, supporting and promoting entrepreneurship, creativity, and resilience in the face of challenges. The emphasis should be placed on large enterprises, State-owned companies, and member firms taking a leading role in fostering the growth of smaller enterprises, creating a ripple effect throughout the business community.
"Hanoi remains steadfast in its commitment to stand firmly alongside the local entrepreneurs and businesses. The authorities will continue to assist the business community in overcoming obstacles, seizing opportunities, and fostering their growth, thus making a significant contribution to the capital's development and playing a crucial role in national economic and social advancement," Hai stressed.
