The Hanoi People's Committee has assigned the municipal Department of Transport the main responsibility, along with other city departments and agencies, of working with JICA to deploy this survey.
The purpose of the survey is to collect and analyze information related to the development strategy and digital transformation programs for the public transport system, find the appropriate technologies to apply to the public transport sector in Hanoi and support the implementation of a project on interoperability of electronic fare system for the city’s mass transit network.
According to JICA's plan, the survey will be carried out until August 31.
In order to solve traffic congestion in the capital, over the years, the city has spent considerable resources for investment in transport infrastructure and diversifying public passenger transport with various projects of urban railway and bus routes.
