Hanoi and Finland's region enhance cooperation between two councils

The cooperation contents meet Hanoi’s strength but the city still needs more support and experiences from the other nations.
The Hanoi People's Council always attaches importance to enhancing bilateral cooperation with the South Ostrobothnia Region’s Council, said Chairperson of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc at the reception for Chairman of its Regional Council Kai Pontinen on January 7.

At the meeting, Chairperson of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc congratulated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the South Ostrobothnia Region Council and the Hanoi People's Committee to promote cooperation in the fields of human resources development, education and training, culture, sports and tourism, trade and services.

Ngoc added that the cooperation contents are Hanoi’s strengths but the city still needs more support and experiences from the other nations.

The chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council also affirmed that, with the position of the capital, Hanoi is determined to be at the forefront in the fields.

She expressed her expectations that the commitments between the two sides will soon become a reality.

The city's Council will closely monitor the implementation of the agreed contents to gain the highest efficiency, Ngoc noted.

She confirmed that the two people's councils need to exchange experiences, and expressed her hope that the two sides will make progress in the time ahead.

For his part, Kai Pontinen agreed with the fields of cooperation mentioned by Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc.

He indicated that the South Ostrobothnia region also has similar priorities and proposed that the two sides continue to expand and exchange directly on cooperation.
