Foreign reporters delighted with Hanoi’s free city tour service amid Trump-Kim summit

Hanoi`s city tour double decker buses have adjusted its itineraries to make stop at the International Media Center for reporters` convenience during the second DPRK-US summit.
The second DPRK-US summit is a wonderful opportunity for Hanoi and for the Vietnamese people. Nearly 3,000 media representatives have visited the capital city and experienced the smiling people, great food and scenery, and Vietnamese culture in recent days.

Reporters covering the second DPRK-US summit have been provided free bus service between February 25 and March 2. The city tour double decker buses have adjusted its itineraries to make stop at the International Media Center for reporters' convenience during the summit.

With continuous departure time of 15-20 minutes, local and foreign reporters covering the summit just show their cards and then they can use the city tour double decker buses.
 
Iqbal Himawan, a reporter from News Anchor, Metro TV Indonesia said: “Overlooking Hanoi while sitting on a double decker bus is an interesting experience. I feel very free to see the peaceful scenery on both sides, among the trees and different views.”

"After more than one hour in the bus, I feel quite interested. Hanoi’s streets are more beautiful with overhead views and always on the move. However, when the bus went through trees, I feel a little scared that if I had any dried branches fallen to my head. The similar ones are streets with interconnected electric wire networks,” Cahya Sunandar, Iqbal Himawan’s colleague, told Hanoitimes.

Hsu Li-Shan, a reporter from Asia Digital Media, Taiwan (China) happily said: “Hanoi's free double decker bus is very convenient, I only need less than 2 seconds, staff at the International Media Center gate provide me with free tickets to use this exciting service.”

What do foreign visitors expect for second US – North Korea summit?

That Hanoi has been chosen to host the second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un has become not only a focus of local and international media, but also a common topic of foreign visitors these days. They really pay attention to the outcome of the summit.

“I expect the second US- DPRK Summit will have concrete results, not generic and symbolic like the first summit, or at least this meeting will outline a specific route. My only hope is that this event will not be a root cause of worse outcome for world peace.”

“The second DPRK-US summit in Vietnam with result which is whether to achieve breakthroughs or not is really longed for by many people. I hope they reach a specific agreement regarding promoting the process of non-nuclearization and global peace.”

North Korean Chairman Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump on February 26 arrived in Hanoi to attend the summit on February 27-28. The two leaders expected to discuss improving relations between Washington and Pyongyang, establishing long-term peace on the Korean peninsula, denuclearizing and repatriating remains of soldiers killed in the Korean war.
