First Vietnamese receives prestigious “smart nation” int'l award

This is good news for the Vietnamese tech community and also pride for Vietnamese people around the world.
At the awards ceremony in London on October 1, for the first time, a Vietnamese businesswoman won the “World’s Best Smart National Concept and Model” award at the Global Smart Cities Contest 2018, according to Dan Tri newspaper.

The woman honored is Chairwoman and General Director of Advanced International JSC (AIC Group) of Vietnam, Ph.D. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan.

The contest was co-organized by the World’s Smart Cities Organization, the Institute of Control Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Normandy French Tech Association.

Nhan received the prestigious international award after winning against hundreds of models and projects on smart cities sent to the contest from many countries around the world such as the US, Singapore, Indonesia, Spain, Portugal, England, France, Estonia, etc.

She also received the title of "Ambassador of international smart city" and "CEO has the best view on smart nation".
 
This is good news for the Vietnamese tech community and also pride for Vietnamese people around the world. This is the first time a prestigious award has been given by the international community to a Vietnamese individual and business in the field of smart nation in the framework of a contest of global scale.

In addition to the above-mentioned awards, the organizers also presented the following prizes: Best electronic administration solution to Tomi World Group (Portugal), Smart energy award to Estonia's Energy Smart Group and the Excellent award on innovation to Dell EMC Technology Group.

It is known that the World’s Smart Cities Organization gathers leading experts on smart nations and supports for ideas, models of smart cities and nations.

According to the organizers, this model can serve as a reference model for cities and countries because the world today has almost one single solution, focusing on one or several field such as smart transport, smart energy management, smart healthcare, safe city and so on.
