Fascinating night performances at Hanoi Opera House attract tourists
Ngo Minh 21:30, 2024/03/06
Music Garden, a nightly cultural performance, was launched at the Hanoi Opera House, enabling visitors to enjoy music and the exquisite architecture of the theater at night.

Tourists to Hanoi now have another option to spend the night as the Hanoi Opera House has launched the Garden Music Programme. The theatre has long been the Mecca of Vietnam's music and arts.

In an outdoor area of 3,000 square metres, visitors to Garden Music can listen to music, sip coffee and admire the architecture of the Opera House at night with the help of stunning lighting.

The Opera House offers different time slots for audiences to enjoy this unique musical space. In the evenings, from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., live classical and modern music concerts by famous national and international singers promise a unique and memorable experience.

The combination of light, music and space in a natural setting creates a mysterious and captivating environment that transports the audience into an emotional world of music.

As one of the performers at Garden Music, singer Tang Ngan Ha said: "I think it will be a place where many artists can hold mini-shows in an intimate and friendly way. Its central location is convenient for foreign tourists."

Speaking at the launch of the programme, the theatre's Deputy Director, Chu Anh Hung, said the Hanoi Opera planned to work with foreign embassies in Hanoi to bring their music to the Vietnamese people.

In addition, the theatre will coordinate with tour operators to bring visitors to the show.

Traditional instrument and classical music shows are held at the Music Garden from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., while classical music or local/international singers' concerts are held from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets for the shows are priced from VND69,000-99,000 (US$2.08-4) including a drink.

The Hanoi Opera House is one of the most important architectural landmarks in Hanoi. The theatre was built by the French colonial government in the early 20th century. It was modelled on the Palais Garnier, the older of the two Parisian opera houses. Construction began in 1901 and was completed in 1911. The building is now considered a must-see attraction in Hanoi.

Since 2017, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has officially launched daytime tours to the Hanoi Opera House. At the time, this was a breakthrough in creating a new destination for tourists in Hanoi.
