Exhibition enhances Hanoi-Vientiane relationship

The exhibition is an opportunity for the authorities and businesses of Hanoi and Vientiane to exchange and share useful information about investment opportunities.

An exhibition in Hanoi highlighting the solidarity and cooperation between the capital cities of Vietnam and Laos contributes to strengthening exchange and tightening the relationship between the two Parties and States.

The event has taken place at No.44 Ly Thuong Kiet Street between August 10 and 11 as part of activities to celebrate the Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022.

At the exhibition, typical products and specialties from the craft villages of Hanoi and Vientiane are on display.

Besides, images of famous destinations of the two countries, as well as those symbolizing the two sides’ fruitful cooperation and relationship, are on the shelves.

Moreover, many Lao enterprises operating in agricultural production, auto parts, handicrafts, consumer goods production, and textiles are also introducing their products at the event.

The exhibition is an important opportunity for the authorities and businesses of the two localities to contact, exchange and share useful information about investment opportunities, preferential policies of Hanoi and Vientiane. It is also a bridge for businesses to  find potential partners.

In his opening speech, the vice chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Nguyen Manh Quyen, said that cooperation between the two capitals in particular and between Hanoi and Lao people's localities in general has steadily tightened, with many effective projects in all fields, such as economy, healthcare, education, agriculture, military, among others.

“Hanoi's export turnover to Laos in the first six months of 2022 reached US$74.8 million (accounting for 0.9%). The city's imports from  Laos in the first half reached 98.3 US$ million,” Quyen cited.

He hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will deploy more activities to for the cooperation between the two cities to become more practical and effective.

For his part, Deputy Governor of Vientiane Phouvong Vongkhamsao affirmed that the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation of Laos and Vietnam have been deeply engraved in the history of the two sides.

The exhibition is also an opportunity for the two countries' delegates to exchange and establish a strategic partnership on investment promotion, trade and tourism under the new normal, Phouvong Vongkhamsao added.
