Enhancing relationship between Vietnamese and Czech-Moravia Communist Parties

On October 31, President Tran Dai Quang suggested at a reception for KSCM Chairman Vojtech Filip, who is also Vice Chairman of the Czech Parliament`s Chamber of Deputies (lower house), in Hanoi that the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of the Czech Republic and Moravia (KSCM) are enhancing their political ties.
Through regular exchange of delegations and timely coordination, thus contributing to promoting the relations between the two countries, Vietnam appreciates achievements the KSCM has recorded over the years, the President He thanked the KSCM and the Chairman in particular for their support to the CPV, as well as the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.

President Quang lauded Vojtech Filip, in his capacity as Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, for his efforts in boosting legislative cooperation between the two countries. Many delegations of the Vietnam National Assembly (NA) visited the Czech Republic to exchange experience in law-making and supervision activities with their Czech Parliament, he said, noting that the close and effective legislative ties will significantly contribute to strengthening two countries’ relations across fields.

The President called on the Czech Parliament to continue supporting and forging the partnership and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the EU, helping the two sides reach a free trade agreement at an early date and encouraging the EU to recognise Vietnam’s market economy status.

Vietnam is willing to assist the Czech Republic to enhance its relations with ASEAN and the group’s member countries, he promised. The host noted with joy the fruitful development of the two countries’ political and diplomatic links, as evidenced through regular exchanges of all-level delegations an their close and effective coordination at regional and international forums.

However, the two-way trade has yet to match their potential and desire, he said, suggesting the two sides expanding their affiliation in economy, trade and investment. Echoing President Quang’s view, KSCM Chairman Vojtech Filip said Vietnam and the Czech Republic have not fully tapped their potential and strength for cooperation, especially in economy, trade and investment.

Many Czech businesses have expressed their wish to study cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners in training pilots and producing vehicles, along with win and solar power projects, he said. Vojtech Filip is in Vietnam to attend the 18th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties which took place in Hanoi from October 28-29.

** Earlier in the same day, at the meeting with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Chairman of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic and Moravia Vojtech Filip hoped his country and Vietnam will promote trade and economic cooperation mechanisms in the coming time.

PM Phuc welcomed the visit of Mr. Vojtech Filip to Vietnam and hoped that the Communist Party of the Czech Republic and Moravia, the Czech Parliament and Government would continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic to uphold their role as a bridge promoting cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

There are wide doors for further coordination between the two countries, said the host leader. Thus, he proposed Viet Nam and the Czech Republic work to cement and deepen the bilateral ties in a more practical and efficient manner.

For his part, Chairman Vojtech Filip treasured Vietnam’s recent achievements, saying that he was convinced that the Communist Party of Viet Nam and Vietnamese people will made more successes in national construction and development. He hoped his country and Vietnam will promote trade and economic cooperation mechanisms in the coming time.
