The 5th Deutschlandfest or German festival was opened in Hanoi on November 2. It is an opportunity for Hanoians to have a German experience, said Hanoi mayor Nguyen Duc Chung at the opening ceremony.

Recognizing many prominent milestones in Vietnam-Germany ties, the chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee expressed hope the bilateral relationship would be more comprehensive, practical and effective.
Chairman Chung thanked German Ambassador to Vietnam Christian Berger, the Goethe Institute, German artists and businesses, as well as other concerned parties for the success of the Deutschlandfest 2018.
For his part, Ambassador Christian Berger said that the event will be a step forward in strengthening the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Germany.
At the festival, international friends and Hanoi’s people will enjoy German songs, still and motion pictures, fashion catwalk and music, Bundesliga football league’s activities, the ambassador affirmed.
The organizers expect that Hanoi’s people and tourists will feel a German space and spirit through cultural exchange activities in the heart of Hanoi - a millenary city that is rich in traditional culture and is thriving, Berger added.
