Agro-forestry-fishery exports rise 11% in the first 4 months of 2016

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the export turnover of agro-forestry-fisheries in April was estimated at 2.97 billion USD, increasing its figure in the first four months of 2016 to over 10 billion USD, up 11% against the same period last year.
Particularly, the export turnover of key agricultural commodities was estimated at 4.98 billion USD, up 13.5% compared to the same period in 2015. One of the items with strong growth was coffee.
In the reviewed time, the average export price of coffee dereased by 18.3% year-on-year, but the export value of coffee increased by 18.2% to reach 1.16 billion USD. Germany and the US were the biggest coffee importers for Vietnam in the period.

The pepper tunrover reached 569 million USD from exporting 70,000 tonnes of products, up over 28% in terms of volume.
Besides, Vietnam also shipped 318,000 tonnes of rubber abroad and gained 376 million USD, up 29% in volume and 6.6% in value.
Exports of key forestry products reached 2.25 billion USD, a rise year-on-year of 4.3 %.
The country shipped 2.06 million tonnes of rice abroad and earned 916 million USD, up 11.8% in volume and 13.8% in value.
Cashew nut reached 689 million USD in revenue from the shipment of 91,000 tonnes.
The value of aquatic exports in the first four months was estimated at nearly 1.97 billion USD, rising 6.3% from the same period last year. The US, Japan, China and the Republic of Korea remained Vietnam’s largest seafood consumption markets, accounting for 51.47 percent of the market share.
