Since all resources have been mobilized as planned to serve the peak of the Tet holidays, Vietnam Airlines, through a flexible operating solution, increases aircraft maintenance at night, optimizes work schedules of the pilots and flight attendants, as well as intensively mobilizes reserve forces to serve Tet.
By increasing their flights during rush hour for Tet holidays, Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific not only satisfy people’s desires to come home for Tet, but also show their capacity and demonstrate the lead role and responsibility of the national airlines.
In the period from February 5 to 12, Vietnam Airlines recorded a record-high full occupancy rate on domestic flights. Especially on the route between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, this rate ranged from 95 to 99%. As advised by the Vietnam Airlines Corporation (ACV), at Tan Son Nhat Airport alone, the total number of passengers arriving and departing during the Lunar New Year 2018 is expected to reach over 4 million, up 25% over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, transport businesses, including railway and buses, have prepared plans to serve the massive influx of passengers travelling during Lunar New Year holiday, Vietnam News Agency reported.
In big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, construction sites of important traffic projects have also been arranged to take less spaces of the streets, in a bid to avoid congestion in peak hours. In which, Hanoi has 637 transport coach routes operating in six stations, providing a total 4,751 trips each day, according to a report from the Hanoi City Traffic Committee.
