Yen Bai to host spetacular Muong Lo Culture – Tourism Week 2018

There will be a series of events and activities taking place in Yen Bai province this September for people of all ages.
The 2018 Muong Lo Culture – Tourism week, organized by the Yen Bai province People’s Committee, will take place in Yen Bai province from September 21 to 25.

According to the organizing board, visitors can enjoy many kinds of activities at the event, including art performances, street cuisine space, street performances, performances of traditional games, art photo exhibition, etc.
After the opening ceremony of the Muong Lo Culture – Tourism Week on September 21, visitors can enjoy the Mu Cang Chai Terraced Field Festival with many kinds of activities, including goat fighting, Khen dancing competition and community tourism activities with locals on terraced fields in communes of La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and Nam Khat.
In addition, visitors can can join pilots and local residents in making creative costumes and accessories in the Paragliding Festival with the theme “Flying over the yellow season”. The six ones with the most unique costumes will win the chance to paraglide and enjoy the local terraced rice fields.
The Paragliding Festival was first held in Mu Cang Chai district in 2013 with the participation of over 30 paragliders. Notably, the number of visitors soared from about 1,000 in 2013 to over 14,000 in 2017.
Coming to Yen Bai in September, visitors will have a chance to visit the Tien Nu cave, which was opened to the public in early 2018. The newly-founded natural cave, 1,000 meters in length, located at the foot of the Khau Pha pass, will attract tourists with mysterious stories of the Thai ethnic minority people.
In addition, the organizers will hold an off-road car tour between September 21 and 25 to help visitors fully enjoy ripening rice fields along the roads to the province.
