With VssID, employees can look up their insurance information by themselves or chat with insurance consultants.

The Hanoi Social Security has been supporting insurance holders to install VssID-Digital Social Insurance, a mobile application of the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) helping beneficiaries monitor their contribution with ease.

The move helps ensure benefits for all employees enrolled in social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance in Hanoi city.

After installing the VssID application on her phone, Nguyen Thi Phuong, an employee of Hong Bao Shoes Joint Stock Company in Dong Anh district is now able to monitor her entire 15 year social insurance contribution history.

"The processes of my social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance payment and two maternity leave payments are fully displayed. This application is very useful for employees," Phuong said.

For Cao Thanh Huong, an officer in charge of human resources in a logistics company in Ba Dinh district, the app has reduced her workload.

“With VssID, employees can look up their insurance information by themselves or chat with insurance consultants. This reduces administrative procedures and saves time in HR administration. The VssID is very convenient,” Huong said.

There have been so far 36,222 VssID registrations. In the coming time, the Hanoi Social Security Office will disseminate and guide officials, civil servants, employees, and students in the city to download, register and use the VssID application.

The VssID app, which is available for IOS and Android platforms, provides users with information on social insurance and health insurance policies, social insurance enrollment history, social insurance codes, medical facilities covered by social insurance as well as places for paying premiums.

The app is a practical step in enhancing the administrative reform and IT application of the VSS, contributing to the national digital strategy and establishing e-Government.

Coverage of health insurance in Vietnam has increased by 1.3 times since 2015, with nearly 33% of the labor force enrolled in 2020 while the proportion of people enrolled in health insurance rose from 76.5% in 2015 to 91% in 2020.
