Hanoi Times – The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has decided to cut charges on roaming service used by foreigners in Vietnam using Vinaphone and MobiFone networks as of November 1, 2007.
Charges for automatic calls in standard rate will be US$ 0.054 and US$ 0.060 for the first six-second block, US$ 0.009 and US$ 0.010 for the following seconds, depending on call destination.
The charges for calls made in economic rate is US$ 0.042 for the first six-second block and US$ 0.007 for each following second.
The calls that need assistance of operators will have similar charges for normal houses. If subscribers use “person call” service, the charges will be US$ 1.040 and US$ 1.10 for the first minute and it will be US$ 0.702 and US$ 0.780 for the first minute of “station call” service. The same charges are applied for the following minutes of the two above services: US$ 0.540 and US$ 0.60.
For calls registered through international switchboard in economic rate, the charge for the first minute will be US$ 0.92 for the “person call” service and US$ 0.546 for “station call” service. The charge for subsequent minutes is US$ 0.42 for both services.
Standard rate is applied for calls made between 6 am and 11 pm from Monday to Saturday and the economic rate is applied for calls made from 11 pm to 6 am from Monday to Saturday, holidays and Sunday. The above charges don’t include VAT.
Subscribers of VinaPhone and MobiFone can make calls to 241 countries and territories.
